Blog Started

So, I’ve decided to start a blog.

We shall see how this works out.

I am Christopher T. Mason, former Marine and current student at College of Marin.

I spent eight years as an active duty Marine. Two years as a ceremonial marcher at 8th and I, a year and change as a fireteam leader in 2/1 including participation in the First Battle of Fallujah, and then about four years on Embassy Duty. While on embassy duty, I was stationed in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.; Warsaw, Poland; Nouakchott, Mauritania, and Helsinki, Finland. I also had an opportunity to visit Romania, Bulgaria, and the Slovak Republic.

I am currently in my third semester at College of Marin, and should be receiving my AS in Political Science in another semester or two.

As to the format of this blog, it’s up in the air. I will probably rely heavily on links to wikipedia for anything I suspect a reasonably well read individual may be unaware of. If it turns out that you, the reader, spot an inaccuracy on any wikipedia article I link, then I trust you will do your part and either correct the error, or let me know so I can fix it.

In a reasonable compromise between freedom of expression and freedom from being inundated with things unsafe for professional work environments that some may be in, I will mark all nsfw sound, images, and video as such. I will not be marking nsfw text, because that would be ridiculous.

I’m going to start populating this blog with content that I’ve already generated at or for other venues.

Other things of mine on the web:

Masonux, a now defunct GNU/Linux distribution.

I also post frequently on ubuntuforums.org as “earthpigg“.

I post here (nsfw) as earthpig, and I post anonymously at 4chan’s /g/ (nsfw) board.

I’ve made numerous anonymous contributions to wikipedia, including the articles on OpenSSH, the Battle of Brega that occurred three days ago, and the article on Marine Security Guards linked above.
